Or, it concerns itself with “my” future, (what should happen or shouldn’t happen, what might happen or could happen, and so on).</p>
<p style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 20px; margin-left: 0px; outline-width: 0px; outline-style: initial; outline-color: initial; font-size: 14px; vertical-align: baseline; background-image: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial; background-color: transparent; font-family: arial, sans-serif; line-height: 20px; background-position: initial initial; background-repeat: initial initial; padding: 0px; border: 0px initial initial;">“My” may make you feel empowered in the moment, but eventually “my” is isolating. It cuts you off from a collective spirit of support, abundance, and generosity. Yet, this is how most people live their lives almost continually.</p>
<p style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 20px; margin-left: 0px; outline-width: 0px; outline-style: initial; outline-color: initial; font-size: 14px; vertical-align: baseline; background-image: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial; background-color: transparent; font-family: arial, sans-serif; line-height: 20px; background-position: initial initial; background-repeat: initial initial; padding: 0px; border: 0px initial initial;">So when “my” arises, take a moment to listen to its surrounding statement. Is it charged with ego-fear and worry?</p>

Your fears will disappear, too.</p>

I encourage you to practice this, over and over again, and see for yourself what happens.</p>

Instead of leaving a horrible job to find one we love, we may stay and complain about it all the time, trying to minimize the pain of accepting the situation as real—and enduring until we change it.</p>

As a pre-teen, I ate my feelings. As a teen, I starved them away. In college, I drank and smoked them numb. And in my twenties, I felt and cried my eyes red and raw.</p>

I wailed. I shook and convulsed. And I wished I’d never chosen to feel them, but rather kept pushing them down, pretending everything was fine.</p>

After ten minutes of twisting, banging, and fighting, I finally threw it at a wall and broke down.</p>

But the reality was a lot simpler: I simply never dealt with my feelings from events large and small, and eventually they dealt with me.</p>

It’s a whole lot easier to deal with pain when it’s not the default feeling.</p>
